Here's Shelby!

We finally got our computer back up and running last night and I could hardly wait to post some pics of our little sweetie! Shelby Mae Clinger was born on March 4th, 2009, at 8:53 in the morning, weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches long!

Here she was right after her arrival- she was a screamer!

Her first bath at home- I couldn't get the bow out of her hair until Tuesday of this week!
I love this picture of her- she always has to have her arms out and up when she sleeps! What a cutie!

As far as the labor and everything- when we got to the hospital on Tuesday night- it was like 9:00 pm before we were admitted and ready to go- I was still at a 1, but was contacting on my own which was good. They gave me a pill to help things soften and dilate and then about 11:30 pm my doc came in and checked me. I was at a 2 and was having good strong contractions from the pill- so they broke my water. I had an epidural about 1:00 am and then they started pitocin at about 3:30 am. Every time they came to check me I was moving along more and more and then about 7:00 am I asked the nurse if it was normal to be having a lot of pressure and she said no, that means the baby is coming! She checked me and I was almost a complete 10. So I had to wait until another nurse could be in there with me because another lady was in labor also. The nurse had me push with 4 contractions and then she told me to wait for the doc. When the doc got there, I pushed with 3 contractions and she was out! It all went much faster then we had planned- crazy! Anyways- we are all doing good- we have all been fighting viral pneumonia for the last 2 weeks but we have managed to keep baby healthy! There ya go- sorry for the delay-

The end is in sight...

Alright- I just got back from the doctors and still not much of a change from the week before so...I will go in on Tuesday night to get things softening up, and on Wednesday morning they will continue with an induction! She said that because of the weird blood clotting thing that we have in my family that she still wants to have a little control over when the baby comes without pushing the limits! So by the end of next week- little Shelby should be here!

Another Update!

Don't get too excited! I have not changed for 3 weeks now- I am still only dilated to a 1! I was totally disappointed- but there really isn't much I can do! So to cheer us all up- I caught Gabe dancing in the kitchen yesterday- it was so funny! He was watching himself in the window of the oven- He sure has some hot moves! ( He must have got them from Jon! :) I think most call his type of dancing Interpretive! Enjoy!

He also loves wearing hats now- as he puts it on he says "dada" and points to his hat! It's really cute! Jon wears hat all of the time- like father like son! The funny thing is he pulls them down so far he can't even see- but it makes him happy and that is what counts!

Tune in next week for another prego update! Hopefully I will have already gone into labor! For now I am trying to keep busy- we have already played with playdoh- we are going swimming today, and I will probably go in the babies room and fold and then refold her cute clothes!

Christmas in February!

First, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your friendship and kindness, and thanks for the generosity with everything that we have been given! We are very grateful for the gifts and love that has been shown to us! We wouldn't be as prepared for little Shelby to come if it weren't for you all- sincerely- thanks a lot! We know that things are tight for a lot of you out there and it makes everything that much more meaningful. Second- I wanted to thank my sister-in-law Kathryn- she makes and sells all sorts of things for babies- and they are super cute! I just got the package in the mail today and it was chuck full of some of her cute things so here they are:




Here is the diaper bag that I ordered- I love polka dots- so I picked black and white and she helped me decide on the color of the inside and the bow on the outside! I love it- there is plenty of room inside!
Then she sent me a matching changing pad and diaper clutch! Way cute- I can hardly wait to use this stuff!

Here is a nursing cover. This one is pink and brown polka dots and yes- it is super cute!

Here She is..!

I met my mom and some of my sisters at Manuel's in Layton today for lunch! Here is a picture with Gabe and his cousin Cruze. They were funny about holding hands!

Here I am, in all of my glory! Yes I look like I am ready to pop! I feel like it too! My husband is very sweet and he tells me every day how beautiful I am- I sure love it! He has been really sweet this whole pregnancy- even though I am a swollen beast of burden! My hair- what can I say- I have already washed it like 10 times- so hopefully it will begin to fade soon! It grows fast so I am not worried that it's not to my shoulders- it will be there soon!

Prego Update!

Alright so the here's the scoop! I am dilated to a 1- yes that is all for the last 2 weeks! I swear it feels like I should be more, but I'm not. My doc told me that if my blood pressure goes up any more than they will get things going and if I dilate any more they will talk about getting me started. She said that she won't let me go over my date by more than a week- so things really are almost here! I got my haircut and colored- it didn't really turn out how I wanted it! the cut is great but the color- well! It was supposed to be a lightish brown color- close to my real color and when she dried it it was red! So to fix it she put dark brown on it- so now I have a red/dark brown cherry chocolate look going on! When Jon gets home I will have him take a picture of my huge self with dark hair! It's really .... well it will leave you speechless! That's all I can say! So think labor thoughts for me now- I would really like to get things moving and if you have any ideas on how to get things moving please share!

It's Getting Close!

We are nine months this week! I can hardly believe it! I'll post again after my appointment this week with pics, but for today- I want to get a list of addresses of friends and family who would like a little baby announcement!
